Vietnam Traveling Wall Escort – Tulare, California

Written by  November 1, 2013

The Vietnam Traveling Wall made its way to Tulare, California on Wednesday, October 16, 2013. The Vietnam Traveling Wall is a replica of the Vietnam Wall Memorial in Washington, D.C. The Traveling Wall is designed for people to see the names of the 58,253 military members who gave their lives during the Vietnam Conflict.

On this day, over 250 veterans from all branches of the Armed Forces and civilians showed up on their motorcycles to escort the Traveling Wall. The gathering was an awesome display of patriotism and respect!

The Central Valley Vietnam Veterans Association was responsible for bringing the Traveling Wall to Tulare. They provided hot dogs, chili, and sodas to the riders at the Tulare Veterans Memorial Building.

If you get a chance to participate in a Traveling Wall Escort, do it! It’s a very rewarding experience, and is a great opportunity to say “Welcome Home” to a Vietnam Veteran.
