Cover Bike & Cover Model Search at The Bar - Lee's Summit, Missouri

Written by  October 1, 2013

The Bar in Lee’s Summit, Missouri was the location for their second cover bike & cover model search of the year, which took place on Saturday, September 14, 2013.

Lonnie, Randall, Nichole and I met at The Bar around 3 p.m. to setup our booth and block off a large area in the parking lot for our cover bike search. DJs Steve and Rachel Swigert with Sunburst Sound & Entertainment provided the music for the afternoon, and before we had even finished setting everything up, bikes began rolling in.

Throughout the afternoon, and we started signing riders up for our cover bike search, and we also had some beautiful ladies sign up for our cover model search. Lonnie was busy taking photos, while Randall shot footage for our Cover Bike & Cover Model Search video.

Due to several other events going on in and around the KC area, and with a large motorcycle rally taking place at Lake of the Ozarks, the turnout was smaller than normal; however, we still had several awesome bikes signed up for our cover bike search, along with three very attractive ladies.

We cut off our cover bike and cover model search registration around 6 p.m., and the judges had the task of narrowing down the bikes to their top three choices. Around 6:30 p.m., I used the DJ’s PA system to introduce the cover model search contestants to a small, but enthusiastic crowd. As I introduced each contestant, they made their runway across the parking lot and back. The girls also posed for a while so everyone could get some good photos, and so the judges could compare notes to make their selections. The judges handed me their votes for the top cover bike and cover model search entries, and it was time to calculate their votes and announce the winners.

Once all the votes were tallied, the cover bike search winner was Jason Kling’s 2012 Harley-Davidson Street Glide, and the two cover bike search finalists Jeff Franzeskus’s 2013 Harley-Davidson Street Bob and Rick Neland’s 2008 Harley-Davidson Street Glide.

After announcing the cover bike search winners, it was time to bring the girls back out one more time and announce the winners of our cover model search. Melissa, from Lee’s Summit, Missouri took first place, and Jyssica and Bridgette, who are also both from Lee’s Summit, Missouri, were the two finalists. We’ll be shooting Melissa on Jason’s bike for our one of our upcoming covers.

We then had the owners of the winning bikes move their motorcycles into the main area of the parking lot so we could take photos of them on the bikes. We also shot our three cover model search winners on the three winning bikes. A crowd gathered as we took photos, and everyone enjoyed the show by pulling out their camera and phones to get a few shots.

The event was a blast, and I want to thank Rick, Dana, and the entire crew at The Bar for hosting another great cover bike and cover model search. I’d also like to thank all the guests who attended the event, as well as the cover bike & cover model search participants who joined in the fun.
