19th Annual Father’s Day Celebration at Alter Ego Motorcycle Supply

Written by  July 1, 2012

Sunday, June 17, 2012, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Alter Ego Motorcycle Supply of Kansas City held their 20th Annual Father’s Day Free Ride-in Bike Show. This event is the creation of Buddha and Lou Ann who are the owner-operators of Alter Ego, and this is a long-time staple event in Kansas City’s motorcycle community.

This year for the 20th time, Buddha and Lou Ann went to extreme lengths to give back to the biker community and spared no expense to thank their customers with a completely free bike event.

The day started out with the Brother’s Word Motorcycle Club of Kansas City welcoming all bikers who wished to place their bikes in the Ride-in Bike Show. The band “Stone Yard” was set up and ready to play for all who attended. Buddha, Lou Ann, and approximately 40 family members and a couple of long-time friends were scurrying around getting the 1,000 waters and sodas, 500 Johnsonville brats, and 300 hotdogs and 800 hotdog buns ready to be grilled and passed out to all in appreciation for attending to the amazement of many at no charge.

As the front and back parking lots at Alter Ego filled up, participants were forced to park at the grocery store parking next door. The band played for the crowd, and during band breaks throughout the day, Buddha proceeded to hand out over $4,500 worth of some great motorcycle-related giveaway prizes done through raffle tickets. The tickets were handed out with no charge upon entering to all attended. Over 200 bikes and 300 people participated in the celebration for Kansas City fathers and the biker community.

As the sweltering Father’s Day finally came to a conclusion, the bike show trophies were handed out, the grill area got cleaned up, the band packed their gear, and the bikes started to leave, Buddha thanked everyone for coming out and helping to make another great day for everyone involved.

I would like to conclude this article by saying to Buddha, Lou Ann and everyone at Alter Ego Motorcycle Supply, “We thank you for dedicating so much effort, time and money to make our families your family.” You will definitely see me in attendance next year; actually you will probably see me this week.
