KC Creations “Thank You” Party

Written by  April 30, 2005

Dictionary.com defines the word party as “A social gathering especially for pleasure or amusement.” Kim and Cheryl Suter’s “Thank You” party definitely fit the definition to a “T.” Cheryl was so gracious as to invite yours truly, along with Stephanie and our editor-in-chief, Mike Schweder, to the event. The invitation could not have been more welcome as it saved me from a night of sitting home stewing over my interviews at the Easyriders V-Twin Bike Show the following day. Cheryl described the party as “A way for KC Creations to say thank you to Easyriders Events, the builders and some of our friends and customers for a great year.” I believe they succeeded on all counts.

The event was held on Friday, April 9 in the Harvest Room at the Kansas City Marriott Downtown. Upon entering the room, the musical entertainment by Jon Zager provided a pleasant background to the buzz of all the conversation. Many well known guests were present, including, but not limited to, Billy Lane, Aaron Greene and his assistant Dante, Dave Perewitz, Rick Fairless, Elizabeth Hilden, Jacquie Mann, and of course our hosts Kim Suter and his lovely wife Cheryl. We spent our time chatting with old friends and making new ones for a while, and then got to work shooting some pictures. The centerpiece of the room had to be the incredible green bike KC Creations built for the Easyriders show. This gorgeous Springer sat there under the lights like a two-wheeled piece of fine jewelry.

As it often happens when I am working, my thoughts soon turned to food. The buffet was unbelievable. The items that tempted my taste buds included inside round of beef with horseradish sauce, breast of turkey, Italian sausage wrapped in a puff pastry, chicken quesadillas with sour cream and salsa, fried coconut shrimp, buffalo chicken strips with blue cheese sauce and a Kansas City sausages and cheese tray.

After my appetite had been satisfied, Stephanie and I shared a couple of cocktails with friends before calling an early end to the evening. We would have loved to have stayed longer, but duty was calling early the next morning. I extend special thanks to Kim and Cheryl for allowing us to be a part of the evening, and I wish them continued success.
