Tool Shed Lounge – A Great Saturday Night Hangout

Written by  June 30, 2004

The Tool Shed Lounge has been a local hangout since 1969. Ray Perrin, the current owner, has been serving up great food and drinks since 1985. Ray owns three, count 'em three Harleys; boy Ray, if we all were so lucky. Although being a busy owner, Ray doesn’t get too many chances to ride, but I think his biggest problem would be which bike to take. Hmm, let me see; the Shovelhead, Dresser or Road King. A dilemma I know we all wish we had.

Bike nights may be new to the Tool Shed, but it has had a biker following for many years. Manager Michelle Baldwin decided to pay back her cliental and stir up some new ones by starting their first bike night back in April of this year. The Shed sports three pool tables and plenty of room to sit at the bar or at one of their many tables to feast, drink or just socialize.

From the minute you walk in, you know this is a place you can call home. Bartenders Sheryl & Sara greet you with a resounding 'HI!’ and ask you if you are ready for your free shot of Jose Cuervo tequila with or without training wheels (for you laymen, that’s with or without salt and lime) or a Pucker shot. Saturday night bike nights also feature many other specials including buckets of Miller Light for $10. Shots of Pucker will only cost you a dollar plus 16 oz. Bud and Bud Light are also on special for two bucks all day, in case you wanna ride in early. There’s always a great chef special on the blackboard, but personally, the tacos are my favorite. I also overheard the locals rave about the Black Angus steaks that come with all the trimmings. Bike night specials start at 6 p.m. till closing.

If you can’t make it in Saturday, bring your woman in for ladies night on Fridays from 6 p.m. till 1:30 a.m. for dinner and a couple of cocktails. Domestic beers are $1.50 and well drinks are only $1.75. Or if you’re single, this could just be the night to meet that someone special. They also have various food and drink specials all week. So make sure you pop in and check out the friendly atmosphere, beautiful bartenders and great drinks.

There’s a secret that’s been running around the bar for a while, that Ray is opening another place just up the street, called Secrets. Well Ray, it isn’t a secret anymore! Located at 12949 East 40 Highway between the AMF Strike and Spare and Paradise Car Wash, they will be featuring a wider selection Black Angus steaks and fresh seafood. Two pool tables and darts will also help you feel at home. Michelle tells us that it will be a little more upscale, so you guys better leave the bikes at home and get out the jacket and ties as we’re only feeding the elite here. Ties will be optional, of course. Keep your eyes and ears open for Secrets, as they should be opening in just a couple weeks. So stop by the Tool Shed Lounge for Saturday bike nights and then try Secrets and tell 'em you heard a little secret from Cycle Connections! All of us here at Cycle Connections Online Motorcycle Magazine wish you the best of luck on your new venture.
