Helmet Recall: Vega Helmet Corp is recalling certain XTS model motorcycle helmets in L, XL and XXL sizes because they may not provide adequate impact protection based on federal safety standards. The company said the recall affects 30,546 helmets manufactured from May 2011 through October 2012.

The evening of November 16 was a special one at Blue Springs Harley-Davidson. The occasion was Guys’ Night, and the dealership was full of booths promoting all sorts of merchandise and services of special interest to guys. At the entrance, men were presented with goodie bags containing discount coupons from the dealership and the vendors. Another cold early morning start as we follow the Colorado River on its westward route. The vistas are what you’d expect from this canyon--grand. Ignoring the signs, Tom climbs over the fence so he can pose precariously on the edge cliff with a big fearless ground squirrel that is perched there. Biker Halloween at Sparks America - Sparks, Oklahoma

Bikers gather every year at Sparks America Campground near the tiny town of Sparks, Oklahoma, for a huge Halloween Biker Bash. The 2012 party was the second big motorcycle rally hosted by Robert Butler who acquired the facility prior to Oklahoma Bike Week in June. Robert continues to look for ways to make sure everyone who comes to Sparks America has a great time.

In 2004, Tucker Orton was born 14 weeks early weighing just 19 ounces. His mother, Jennifer, had been diagnosed with severe preeclampsia and possible HELLP syndrome, a life-threatening obstetric condition. Tucker coded immediately after delivery, was revived and rushed to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) where his diagnosis was severe prematurity, respiratory distress, and possible sepsis. His care included surfactant therapy, a treatment developed by March of Dimes-funded research, enabling his undeveloped lungs to function.

For me, Tuesday, September 11, 2001 began as an ordinary day. Then I got a call from my friend B.C. who was the first to inform me of the attack at the World Trade Center. Others were also getting calls, and everyone was soon following the news on portable radios. After a while, we were all sent home. By the end of that day, both towers had fallen, the Pentagon had been hit, and United Flight 93 had gone down in Pennsylvania.
