Saturday, August 18 was a beautiful day to help save animals, and Knucklehead’s Saloon was the perfect location for such an event. We’d been helping promote the 3rd Annual Outlaws for Paws Benefit Event for several months, which was all put together by Brooke Turner and her non-profit organization; Brookelyn’s Bombshells, Inc.

The Brass Rail in Kansas City, Missouri was the location for our third cover bike & cover model search of the year, which took place on Sunday, July 15, 2012, which coincided with their weekly Sunday Biker Brunch.

On Thursday evening, July 12, 2012, Shawnee Cycle Plaza presented the first of a three part series entitled Biker Diva Motorcycle 101. The free seminars cater towards women riders, and encourage attendees to “Get in touch with your inner Biker Diva!”

Dad would cuss under his breath and shut the doors and windows when the neighbor kids would ride their two-stroke dirt bikes in the field across the street. So you can imagine my surprise when he asked me one day if I ever thought about getting one of those. Not a ring-ding as he called them, but a street bike you could take trips on.

A few weeks ago, I received an e-mail from one of our readers in Stockholm, Sweden named Peter Ström (one of the many perks of publishing an online motorcycle magazine). Peter told me about a bike he'd built for himself, as well as a custom trike he'd build for his wife. He also asked if I was interested in taking a look at a few photos, so I obviously jumped at the chance. I mean, how often do you get an opportunity to check out custom bikes from another country?

Worth Harley-Davidson in Kansas City, Missouri was the location for our final cover bike & cover model search of the season, which took place at their new Events Center on Thursday, October 11, 2012, which coincided with their weekly bike night, which is known for their food and drink specials, live bands, and bikini bike washes by the beautiful Worth Girls.

A few weeks ago, I received an e-mail from a fellow motorcycle enthusiast named Rick Scarborough. Rick is one of the nicest guys you could ever meet, and we run into each other from time to time at various motorcycle events in and around the KC area. Rick contacted me to see if I’d be interested in meeting a friend of his named Richard Welsh a.k.a. Rick, who was riding his hand-built hardtail chopper to Kansas City from London Ontario, Canada.

The Bar in Lee’s Summit, Missouri was the location for our second cover bike & cover model search of the riding season, which took place on Saturday, July 23, 2012.

Stripe, Lonnie, and Donna were out of town attending the Sparks America Rally in Oklahoma that weekend, and Danny had his bike torn apart putting a new wheel on the front, so Nichole recruited a few friends to help out for the day.

Our first cover bike & cover model search of the 2012 riding season took place on Sunday, June 10 at Russo’s Pizza in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.

Lonnie, Donna, Stripe, Danny, Wally, Randall and I arrived early to setup our booth in the parking lot, and the bikes soon began rolling in.

I remember a time, not so long ago, when the monthly H.O.G. Chapter meetings were about the extent of the social gatherings at the local dealerships. Although the dealerships have always done a great job sponsoring charity rides and events, if you wanted to have a beer, hang out with your riding buddies, and listen to some live music, you had to saddle up and head to the bar.
