For this month's issue, we also invite you to check out our behind the scenes photos taken at this month’s cover shoot.

We enjoy featuring some of the cool old Harley-Davidson motorcycles, and this one is no exception. The Servi-Car was initially developed for car dealers and repair shops; however, the practical nature of this model made it a logical selection for firehouses, police departments, postal carriers, and even the military.

The three wheeled Servi-Car was first produced during the Great Depression in the late 1930s, which was an attempt by Harley-Davidson to increase their product base and improve sales.

In its earliest days, the Servi-Car was used mostly by car dealers and repair shops for picking up and dropping of customer cars using only a single employee. The worker would hop on the motorcycle, ride to the customer’s place to pick up a vehicle that needed service, remove a hitch from the cargo box, hitch the Servi-Car to the rear bumper of the car, and drive to the service station with the motorcycle in tow. Once the car had been repaired or serviced, it would be driven back to the customer’s place, again with the motorcycle hitched to its rear bumper. Then, after delivering the car the employee would it back to the dealership. This is back with “service” meant “service.”
