Ken Steenrod & His 2001 Harley-Davidson Ultra Classic

Our February 2014 cover bike is owned by Ken Steenrod owner of Ken's Custom Paint & Graphics in Peoria, Illinois. We had the opportunity to gather more information about Ken and his 2001 Harley-Davidson Ultra Classic, and we were also able to gather information from this month’s cover model Chelsey.


CC: Ken, what is your occupation?
Ken: I’m a custom bike builder, and the owner of Ken's Custom Paint & Graphics.

CC: Do you have hobbies other than motorcycling?
Ken: Yes, I also enjoy model railroads and hunting.

CC: How long have you been riding?
Ken: I’ve been riding about 35 years.

CC: What was your first bike?
Ken: My first bike was a Harley-Davidson Z90.

CC: How many bikes have you owned?
Ken: Too many to count.

CC: What do you like most about your Ultra Classic we shot for this month’s cover?
Ken: The fact that I’ve done hundreds of motors, and one always out performs the rest. This is the one.

CC: What is your dream bike?
Ken: I’m still searching.

CC: What is your most memorable riding experience?
Ken: The year me and four buddies took off for Sturgis with no agenda, and spent two weeks riding and having a good time.

CC: To what motorcycle clubs or organizations do you belong?
Ken: The Blue Knights.

CC: Which is your favorite motorcycle rally?
Ken: Sturgis.

CC: Do you prefer riding in a group or by yourself?
Ken: I enjoy riding in a group.

CC: Who are some of your closest riding buddies?
Ken: Troy Tate and Jeff Williamson.
