Our July 2012 cover bike is owned by Mike McNamara from Kansas City, Missouri. I first heard about this bike a few months ago from Chris Cofield with CC Custom Graphics. Chris told me he was custom painting a Harley-Davidson Road Glide that he thought I may be interested in taking a look at. Chris then sent me a photo of it once it was finished, and I agreed that it was definitely a cover-worthy bike, so here we are! We also decided to shoot Worth Girl Sammi on Mike’s bike for this month’s cover.

On Saturday, May 5, 2012 Stripe and I rode over to Reno’s Powersports in Kansas City, Missouri as several local Can-Am Spyder riders descended on the dealership. I’d never seen so many Spyders in one place at the same time, and it was great to see such an awesome turnout.

There were Spyders there in every color, and some were highly customized with stereo systems, auxiliary lights, and custom paint. It was also apparent that Can-Am Spyders appealed to every age group. While we were there, several younger riders pulled in, as well as a few older folks who seemed to be having a great time on their Spyders.

The weather was perfect, the parking lot was full of bikes, and Brooke and her Bombshells were busy washing motorcycles in their bikinis when Stripe and I pulled into the parking lot at Harley’s & Horses Grill, Stage & Saloon. The date was Saturday, May 5, 2012, and the event was the annual Bikers Against Child Abuse (B.A.C.A.) Ride-In Bike Show, which is always a huge event.

Our June 2012 cover model is Alana from Overland Park, Kansas. She was the winner of our Cover Model Search at Rawhide Harley-Davidson in Olathe, Kansas. We had some scheduling issues before; however, we were finally able to get Alana into our studio for her photo shoot.

Since Wednesday, September 17 was a gorgeous evening for a ride, I packed my camera and notepad in my roll bag, fired up the Fat Boy and headed to Russo’s Pizza & Pub in Lee’s Summit, Missouri for bike night. I’d been to Russo’s before, however tonight they were having a wet T-shirt contest, which gave me a little added incentive to check things out.
