With the cold and rainy weather here in the Midwest, you'd think we were approaching fall rather than summer. I mean…come on Mother Nature…give us a break! Anyway…the riding season is here regardless of the weather, and our Local Rallies & Events page for the KC area is already filling up, with more local rides being added every day, as well as in other major US cities! Our US Rally & Event Locator page has also been updated with all the big rallies, so check it out and start making your travel plans today!
This year's bike night season is also just getting underway, and we've teamed up with KC's biggest and best bike night locations for several of our upcoming cover bike & cover model search events. Saturday April 3 was our first event of the year when several hundred bikers filled the parking lot and streets at Fathead & Braineads Saloon in Grandview, Missouri. We had 15 beautiful women sign up for our cover model search and 23 awesome bikes were entered for a chance to be photographed for this month's cover. After all the dust settled and the judges compared their notes, Mandy of Blue Springs, Missouri was announced as the winner of the cover model contest and Rob Sansonetti's Custom Harley-Davidson Road King took top honors as the cover bike winner. Our next cover bike & cover model search took place on Thursday, May 13 at FUEL American Made Bar & Grill in Overland Park, Kansas, so make sure to check out all the article and photos that will be published in our June 2010 issue. If you happened to miss our first two cover bike & cover model searches, you can still make up for it by riding up to Harley's & Horses Bar & Grill in Kansas City, Missouri on Thursday, June 3 for our next big event. Several other bike night locations, including Roadies Rockhouse in Blue Springs will also be putting on a cover bike & cover model search at their locations, so keep checking back for more details!
On June 18-20, the 1st Annual Grand River Summer Rally is taking place in Urich, Missouri, which is just a few miles south of Kansas City. This is going to be one wild rally, featuring some of the area's best biker tribute bands such as Silver Bullet (Bob Seger), Paradise City (Guns N' Roses), Poison Overdose (Poison), Eliminator (ZZ Top), and Big Gun (AC/DC). Slacker from 101.1 The Fox will be this year's MC, and the Cycle Connections crew will be hosting the motorcycle field events, which will include a slow ride contest, weenie bike, water balloon toss, keg roll, and lots of other fun biker games. We will also be putting on one of our popular cover bike & cover model searches at the rally, which you won't want to miss. There will also be lots of vendors, great food, body painting, and much, much more. Don't miss this one, or you'll be sorry!
