June 2005 Newsletter

Tuesday, June 21 marks the first official day of summer and things are already beginning to heat up. There are more rides, rallies and events going on right now than you can shake a stick at. And with more than 50 upcoming events just in the KC area alone, that’s one hell of a lot of stick shaking!

Thanks to all of you, we’re getting flooded with ride, rally, event and business submissions from all over the country; and a few from other countries that we’re trying to figure out what the hell to do with.

We’re entering them as fast as our fat little fingers can type, so if your submission isn’t listed yet, please be patient and we’ll get them all entered as quickly as possible. We’re also in the process of recruiting a few techno-nerds that we can chain to their computers and help get caught up, so again, thank you for your patience.

Upcoming Events:
There are way too many upcoming events to list them all here, so make sure to check out our Local Rallies & Events page for the Kansas City or in your neck of the woods.

On Tuesday, June 21, join the Vietnam Memorial Wall Ride and help escort the Dignity Memorial® Vietnam Wall (The Wall) from the Flying J Truck Plaza in Kansas City, Missouri to Chapel Hills Memorial Gardens in Kansas City, Kansas. A brief ceremony will be held to place a Purple Heart Medal, and an after ride party will be held at T-Bones Stadium for all ride participants, with free food, soda and live music by Ruckas. Bike contests and prizes will be awarded.

On Saturday, June 25, please join us for the KC Creations 10th Anniversary Celebration from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. and the 6th Annual Ride for Special Children which will leave from the KC Creations parking lot at 2 p.m.! Kim and Chuck will be on location with the Big Inch Bikes Radio Show and will be giving away all kinds of goodies. While you’re there, make sure to stop by the Cycle Connections booth to say hey, and if you’re wearing your Cycle Connections T-shirt, you may just get some free goodies! If you haven’t picked up one of our T-shirt yet, stop by our booth, and for only $10, you’ll get a Cycle Connections T-shirt and coozie, and we’ll also take your photo with one of our lovely models, which will be published in an upcoming issue! What a deal!

If you love fast bikes, and who don’t, the 3rd Annual Soul Brothers Drag Race/Car & Bike Show will be held at the Kansas City International Raceway (KCIR) in Independence, Missouri on Saturday, June 25. This is guaranteed to be a great event, so drop by and watch all the great drag racing action! There will also be a car & bike show at the track, which is sponsored by the Zodiac motorcycle club. Our roving reporter Dave Miller will be covering this event, so make sure to smile because your photo may just be in one of our next issues!

On Sunday morning, June 26, ride on down to Harrah’s Casino for Janey's Over the Next Hill Ride, benefiting Immacolata Manor. This is one of the largest charity rides of the year, and you won’t want to miss it! We’ll have our booth setup, and the great folks at Harrah’s will definitely take care of everyone after the ride. When it comes to helping the local motorcycle community, Harrah’s spares no expense!

If you know of any local events you'd like to see listed, feel free to Submit a Rally or Event and we’ll add them for FREE!
