I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I also hope Santa treated you right this year and stashed some great biker goodies under your tree. With the holidays now behind us and the temperatures dipping down into the single-digits, many of you have probably put your bike away for the winter and are impatiently waiting for spring, or one of those rare unseasonably warm days so you can get out and ride.

Even when it’s a bit nippy to ride, it’s never too cold to attend a bike show, and we have some great ones coming up you’ll definitely want to check out. There are also several after Christmas specials going on right now that we’ll tell you about.

Jackie’s Leathers and More in Independence, Missouri, is offering 20-50 percent off select items! They have chaps for as low as $80 and leather jackets starting at only $100. Jackie’s is now a Pro One Dealer, and you can order any part from the catalog and pay only $50 above dealer cost. Now that’s a deal!

Make sure to stop by Moto-Gear at 4914 North Oak Trafficway in Kansas City, MO for some great after Christmas specials and to check out all the new merchandise from their ever expanding product line. You gotta see some of the sick stuff they’re bringing in!

Hawg Wyld Cycles in Lee’s Summit, Missouri is offering winter bike storage in a controlled environment for only $40 per month. This package includes detailing before pickup. Battery tenders and bike covers are also available at reasonable rates if you don’t have your own. For those of you who plan to ride all winter long, make sure to take advantage of their six oil change maintenance plan that includes two details with Pig Glow polishing products. Stop in for pricing and more details!

Make sure to tune in to Kansas City’s TalkRadio 710 KCMO every Saturday morning between 11 a.m. – noon for the Big Inch Bikes Radio Show featuring master bike builder, Kim Suter, of KC Creations. Kim’s first live broadcast was held on location at the Easyriders Bike Show in Pomona, California, and was a big hit! If you’re not in the Kansas City area or don’t have a radio handy, sign up at www.710kcmo.com to listen to the show live on your computer as Kim covers several interesting topics including interviews with various guest builders. Last Saturday’s topic covered engines and cams, and you can win some great prizes by answering the weekly trivia question!

As we announced in last month’s newsletter, on Monday evening, November 29, Lightning Cycle located at 7404 North Oak Trafficway in Gladstone, Missouri caught fire and suffered severe fire, smoke and water damage. We wish Glen, Jackie and Shawn the best of luck and hope to see them reopen their doors real soon.
