Motorcycle Sunday Bike Run to Cassoday, Kansas

The season is gearing up, and one of the first upcoming events is Motorcycle Sunday in Cassoday, Kansas. For almost 20 years now, the fine folks at the Cassoday Café have been taking care of the motorcycle enthusiasts that invade their sleepy little town in search of breakfast or brunch on the first Sunday of every month.
In 1991 Jack Robinson went to Norma Arsenault and told her that the Saturday ride for breakfast that his group regularly took would be better if it was on Sunday. Now Norma wasn't giving up her Sunday without some assurance that it would be worth her while both in time and money. What started with 12 motorcycles now draws an estimated 6000 to 7000 bikers March through November.
They say ''Cassoday is known for its cowboys, prairie chickens, railroad, and motorcycles: but you know us for our hospitality." The residents of Cassoday number at around 100 and it's believed that just about every one of them turns out in some way, shape, or form to help host us on Motorcycle Sundays. Everyone in Cassoday works hard when the thunder rolls into town, so when you see one of them, take the time to stop, shake their hand and tell them "thanks, man."
This event has grown over the years to a size large enough to draw local vendors to the event in an attempt to ply their wares. Some of the vendors to be on the lookout for are:

- Item three
- Dave's Leathers
- Rebel Cycles
- Pinky's Patches
Unfortunately, we lost Norma last year, but Cassoday and the Cafe are still going strong and still rollin’ out the proverbial carpet for the riding enthusiast. Make the journey to Cassoday and Motorcycle Sunday the first Sunday of every month. On Monday, when they ask you what you did over the weekend, you can tell them you rode one-hundred miles to have breakfast with 6,000 of your closest friends.
