2018 Miracle League Ride, Moody, Alabama

Written by  April 24, 2018

We woke Saturday morning, March the 24th, 2018, to an absolutely beautiful day for riding.

There was one stop we needed to make along the way, then it was off to the Moody Ball Park to meet up with the ride that Larry Hardeman had pulled together along with support from several of the clubs like the CMA, the Saints and the Veterans Brotherhood, just to name a few.

This ride was to benefit the Moody Miracle League, where they believe that “Every Player Deserves a Chance To Play Ball”

The Moody Miracle League is a non-profit group formed in 2003 as a baseball league for individuals with disabilities. Moody Miracle League was the first Miracle League built in the state of Alabama and is the largest in the state with over 175 players ranging in age from 2 years to over 70 years young.

100% of ALL donations go to the Moody Miracle League.

All Board Members are Volunteers.

All ages and disabilities are welcome.

They keep the players involved in the community as much as possible.

They teach the players fundamentals and community skills.

I’m sure that it also teaches them to love themselves, that they are important and that they are loved, and maybe just to forget the bad stuff, if only for the day, and to have FUN!

There is also an annual “Miracles in Motion”, 5K and 1 mile Fun Run/Walk/Roll, also held in March and an annual “Cruzin’ For a Miracle Car Show” that takes place in October, all of which go to support the Moody Miracle League.

This ride that we were a very small part of, was part of their “Buddy Program”, where these players are partnered up with a buddy to assist them out on the field in a game, talk about a really awesome feeling.

These bikers ALL got the biggest kick out of being a “kid” again out there playing ball with the players. And the kids got just as much out of having them out there with them and getting to see and hear all of those motorcycles as they came and went. It was a pretty cool sight, it also left you feeling blessed that you were given this day and this heartwarming, amazing opportunity!

I wanted to have a picture of EACH of the players in this article, since that wasn’t going to happen, I was told to tell you that the pictures in this article are only a SMALL representation of all the players, to see them all you are cordially invited to visit their facebook page @: MoodyMiracleLeagueSports or for more information or to make a donation or become a volunteer you can visit their web site at:
