Victory Demo Rides at Shawnee Cycle Plaza - Shawnee, Kansas

Written by  May 31, 2014

On Friday, May 2 and Saturday, May 3, Shawnee Cycle Plaza provided Victory motorcycle enthusiast and tire kickers alike, the opportunity to take demo rides on the new fleet of Victory motorcycles. This event tied in perfectly with Victory’s 15th Anniversary, and Shawnee Cycle Plaza’s 1 year anniversary for carrying the Victory line.

When pulling into the dealership, the first thing that caught your eye, was the huge Victory Demo Tour semi-truck and trailer backed into the parking lot. Next to the truck was an impressive lineup of every Victory model you could ask for. If you had long pants, close-toed shoes, and a valid motorcycle endorsement, you were good to go.

Following a short safety briefing, visitors mounted up the bike of their choice, secured their helmets, and exited the parking lot for a guided tour along a nice route, so they could get a good feel for how their bike handles.

While the group was on their ride, I had the opportunity to visit with Doris Sarver, who is in charge of Sales and Marketing at the dealership, and the coordinator of the demo rides. Doris filled me in on the new Victory models, and also shared with me some information about Operation Gratitude, which each year, sends 100,000+ care packages filled with snacks, entertainment items, and personal letters of appreciation to U.S. service members deployed in hostile regions, to their children left behind, and to veterans, first responders, wounded warriors, and their caregivers. Their mission is to lift morale, bring a smile to a service member’s face, and express to our Armed Forces the appreciation and support of the American people.

On Saturday, the dealership served hamburgers and had a raffle, which included a bass guitar and amplifier valued at $500, along with several gift cards. Over 114 riders took advantage of the two day demo ride, so I’m sure we’re going to see a lot more Victory motorcycles on the street this year. I was so impressed with the new line of Victory bikes that we decided to feature the 2015 Victory Gunner on our June 2014 cover.

A special thanks to Barry Bunner, Doris Sarvo, and the entire crew at Shawnee Cycle Plaza for hosting another great demo ride!
