California Widows Sons State Meeting – Sonora, California

Written by  June 1, 2014

The California Widows Sons State Meeting was held in Sonora, California on April 11-13, 2014. The Widows Sons lodged at the Best Western Plus, which was a great place to stay. Kathy did an awesome job accommodating the Widows Sons and grouping us in a block of rooms.

Friday evening, a BBQ was held at the hotel. New and old friends alike met up and chatted the evening away. It was a great time for all, as well as a time to unwind after the trek to Sonora.

Saturday morning, 19 riders embarked on a ride to Historic Columbia State Park. The ride to the park was very majestic and scenic. There is an old mining town set up in the park and you can even pan for gold!

Saturday evening began with the Widows Sons and the Ladies enjoying a nice leisurely dinner at the Pine Tree Restaurant, located next to the hotel. After dinner, business was tended to, and the new state officers were elected and placed into office. Congrats to the New State Officers! Many other topics were also discussed and resolved.

Sunday morning, the Widows Sons departed to their humble places of abode, peace and harmony prevailing.
