Cover Bike & Cover Model Search at Blue Springs Harley-Davidson - Blue Springs, Missouri

Written by  October 1, 2013

Blue Springs Harley-Davidson in Blue Springs, Missouri was the location for one of our ever popular cover bike & cover model search events, which took place on Thursday, September 12, 2013, and coincided with their monthly bike night that also featured the popular band Blue Orleans, Bikers for Babies® pre-registration, free hot dogs/hamburgers, beer in the parking lot provided by Clancy's Pub.

Stripe, Lonnie, Roger, Nichole and I arrived early to setup our booth and to block off a section of the parking lot for our cover bike search, and Bruce and Randall also arrived to help out. Before we had everything setup, several bikes had already started arriving and entering our cover bike search. Nichole was also busy signing up girls for our cover model search.

Throughout the evening, more and more bikes kept rolling in, and before long, the parking lot was filling up, as was our cover bike search staging area. Lonnie was busy taking photos as Randall “Sea Hawk” Hauk, our videographer, was busy shooting video for our Cover Bike & Cover Model Search video. The band Blue Orleans was playing some great music in the parking lot, and people riders just kept flooding in.

By the time we cut off our cover bike and cover model search registration, we had 15 awesome bikes and seven gorgeous ladies signed up to compete for our cover model search. Once the bike search registration was closed, the judges began the difficult task of narrowing down the bike entries to their top three choices. Around 8:30 p.m. I used the band’s’ PA system to introduce the cover model search contestants to an excited crowd. As I introduced each contestant, they made their runway walk across the parking lot in front of the bikes. The girls posed for a while so everyone good get some good photos, and so the judges could compare notes to make their top selections. The judges handed me their votes for the top cover bike and cover model search entries, and it was time to calculate their votes and announce the winners.

The cover bike search winner was Toney Hollinger’s 2011 Harley-Davidson Road Glide, and the two cover bike search finalists were Don Underwood’s 2007 APC Wild Card S 300 and Steve Adinolfil’s 2012 Harley-Davidson Road Glide Custom. Next, it was time to bring the girl’s back out to a cheering and excited crowd. Ty, from Knob Noster, Missouri took first place, and Brianna from Higginsville, Missouri and Danielle from Lee’s Summit, Missouri were the two finalists. We’ll be shooting Ty on Toney’s bike for our one of our upcoming covers.

We then had the cover bike winners move their bikes to the center of the parking lot so we could take photos of them on their bikes. We also shot our three cover model search winners on the three winning bikes, which drew quite a crowd. Randall also video-taped the impromptu photo shoot, which is always quite entertaining

We had a great time, and I want to thank David, Mikki, and the entire crew at Blue Springs Harley-Davidson for hosting a great cover bike and cover model search. I’d also like to thank all the bikers who attended the event, as well as the cover bike & cover model search participants who joined in the fun.
