Bike Night at Joe's Crab Shack - Olathe, Kansas

Written by  July 1, 2013

Joe’s Crab Shack in Olathe, Kansas is our newest bike night partner. Located at 11965 S Strang Line Rd, this is an ideal location for one of Kansas City’s only Tuesday night bike nights. There’s plenty of bike-only parking, and there’s plenty of room for you and all your riding buddies to hang out on their huge deck or walk around in the parking lot to check out all the bikes.

A couple months ago, General Manager Alex Goncalves contacted me and said that he’d recently transferred to Olathe from the Independence location, and was interested in hosting a bike night. He told me he’d had good success promoting an antique/custom car night at his Independence location and he thought he’d try something a little different in Olathe with a bike night. Joe’s Crab Shack has awesome seafood, and Alex and his crew run a great place. Shawnee Cycle Plaza has signed on to help sponsor their bike nights.

On Tuesday evening, June 4, 2013, myself, and fellow Cycle Connections team members Stripe, Bruce, and Eric attended bike night. That same evening, Shawnee Cycle Plaza owner Barry Bunner, and team members Doris and Mike Sarvo also showed up, along with Eric Finney and several members of the Kansas City Vulcan Riders Chapter 1-44.

On bike nights, from 5-11 p.m., you can get $2 crawfish tails, popcorn shrimp, fried pickles, as well as $2 16 oz Bud Light, Miller Lite and Hurricanes. The popcorn shrimp and Hurricanes are my favorites!

Joe’s Crab Shack will also be the location for one of our cover bike & cover model search events this year, which will take place on Tuesday, July 30, 2013.

We had a great time hanging out with all the fine folks from Shawnee Cycle Plaza and our new friends with the Kansas City Vulcan Riders. I’d also like to thank Alex and the entire crew at Joe's Crab Shack for putting on a great bike night!
