Cover Bike & Cover Model Search at The Bar - Lee's Summit, Missouri

Written by  November 1, 2012

The Bar in Lee’s Summit, Missouri was the location for their second cover bike & cover model search of the year, which took place on Saturday, September 22, 2012.

Stripe and Randall met me at The Bar, and helped setup or booth and block off a large area in the parking lot for our cover bike search. As soon as we had everything set up, bikes began rolling in, and I was busy all afternoon signing up beautiful bikes and ladies for our search. While I was doing that, Stripe was also busy taking photos and Randall had his hands full shooting our Cover Bike & Cover Model Search video.

The parking lot was filling up quickly, which kept us busy getting all the cover bikes search contestants line up and getting everyone signed in. By the time we cut off our cover bike and cover model search registration around 6 p.m., we had several awesome bikes signed up for our cover bike search, along with eight attractive ladies who had signed up to compete for our cover model search.

As soon as the bike search registration was cut off, the judges began the difficult task of narrowing down the bikes to their top three choices. Around 6:30 p.m. I used the DJs PA system to introduce the cover model search contestants to an overly excited crowd. As I introduced each contestant, they made their runway across the parking lot and back in front of the cover bike entries. The girls also posed for a while so everyone good get some good photos, and so the judges could compare notes to make their top three selections. The judges handed me their votes for the top cover bike and cover model search entries, and it was time to calculate their votes and announce the winners.

Once all the votes were tallied, the cover bike search winner was Debbie St Clair’s 2003 Boar Chopper, and the two cover bike search finalists were Roger Lumley’s 2004 Swift Punisher and Mark Kozak’s 1968 Harley-Davidson FLH.

After announcing the cover bike search winners, it was time to bring the girls back out one more time and announce the winners of our cover model search. Jessica, from Bucyrus, Kansas took first place and Katlinne from Peculiar, Missouri and Amanda from Lee’s Summit, Missouri, were the two runners-up. We’ll be shooting Jessica on Debbi’s bike for our December 2012 cover.

We then had the owners of the winning bikes move their motorcycles into the main area of the parking lot so we could take photos of the winners on the bikes. We also shot our three cover model search winners on the winning bikes. A crowd gathered as we took photos, and everyone enjoyed the show by pulling out their camera and phones to get a few shots.

The event was a blast, and I want to thank Rick, Dana, and the entire crew at The Bar for hosting another great cover bike and cover model search. I’d also like to thank all the guests who attended the event, as well as the cover bike & cover model search participants who joined in the fun.
