3rd Annual Outlaws for Paws Benefit Event - Kansas City, Missouri

Written by  September 1, 2012

Saturday, August 18 was a beautiful day to help save animals, and Knucklehead’s Saloon was the perfect location for such an event. We’d been helping promote the 3rd Annual Outlaws for Paws Benefit Event for several months, which was all put together by Brooke Turner and her non-profit organization; Brookelyn’s Bombshells, Inc.

Brooke is a good friend and one of our cover models. She has worked hard over the past several years, leading a group of beautiful women, who volunteer their time to help numerous charitable organizations in and around the Kansas City area. Every time you turn around, you can find Brooke and her Bombshells helping out. Therefore, when Brooke contacted me about helping promote her event, and asked if we may be able to put together a few bike games for the event, myself and the entire Cycle Connections crew jumped at the chance to help out.

Frank, the owner of Knuckleheads Saloon is an old friend of ours, and went out of his way to help out by blocking off the street in front of the bar, and agreeing to host the event. Along with the bike games we put on, there were numerous other activities going on all day, such as a dunk tank, mechanical bull, a kissing booth, and a photo booth where you could have a photo taken of you and your bike with your favorite Bombshell.

There was also an aerial apparatus constructed at one end of the street were a very talented aerial silk artist put on an impressive display of aerial dance, while suspended from several strands of aerial fabric. If you have no idea what I’m talking about, feel free to just take a look at the photos below this article, and I’m sure you’ll get it.

Smokin' Bad Habit BBQ had their smokers blazing, and the aroma from their BBQ was mouthwatering. The wings were awesome! There were also several vendor booths lining both sides of the street, including, The Grave Radio, Big Twins Cycles, Bikers Against Child Abuse (B.A.C.A.), Hawg Clips, Pure Romance, Scentsy, Roadies Surplus, Hair Feathers, Rides & Rigs, and More!

Scott Adams, a.k.a. DJ Andy Scott also had his sound system setup and was cranking out some great biker tunes throughout day, and was kind enough to let me use his PA system to MC the bike games.

And speaking of bike games, we had a blast putting them on, and as you can tell from the photos below, the crowd really seemed to enjoy watching all the participants try their hand at our Slow Ride Obstacle Course, Blind Ride, Water Balloon Toss and Weenie Bite. Brooke obtained several great prizes for the bike game winners, including a huge gift certificate from Big Twins Cycles, which was presented to the winner of the Weenie Bite contest. Below is the list of first place winners from each event:

1st Place Slow Ride Obstacle Course: Chris Kueng

1st Place Blind Ride: Jim Polaski

1st Place Water Balloon Toss: Dan Scott & Ally Wilson

1st Place Weenie Bite: Jim Polaski & Lisa

Later that evening, the festivities shifted to the outdoor stage, where The Nace Brothers, Outlaw Jim & The Whiskey Benders, and The Green Goddammits entertained everyone into the wee hours of the morning. There were also raffle drawings, a sexy & fun girlie show, and lot of activities.

We’d like to thank Brooke for inviting us to join in the fun, and we thank all of our readers who came out to participate in a fun day of craziness to help the animals!
