Cover Bike & Cover Model Search at Worth Harley-Davidson - Kansas City, Missouri

Written by  December 1, 2012

Worth Harley-Davidson in Kansas City, Missouri was the location for our final cover bike & cover model search of the season, which took place at their new Events Center on Thursday, October 11, 2012, which coincided with their weekly bike night, which is known for their food and drink specials, live bands, and bikini bike washes by the beautiful Worth Girls.

Stripe and I arrived early to setup our booth and to block off a section of the parking lot for our cover bike search, and before long, Lonnie got there and began taking photos and helping line up cover bike participants.

As soon as we had everything set up, bikes started rolling in, and we had several lovely ladies register for our cover model search. Randall “Sea Hawk” Hauk, our videographer wasn’t able to make it that night, so Stripe volunteered to shoot some footage for our Cover Bike & Cover Model Search video.

The parking lot began filling up very quickly, and the popular Lynyrd Skynyrd Tribute Band Edge of Forever started playing onstage. Since it was a bit too cold out, the Worth Girls weren’t able to wash bikes that evening, which was a real bummer. By the time we cut off our cover bike and cover model search registration around 7 p.m., we had several awesome bikes and six gorgeous ladies signed up to compete for our cover model search.

As soon as the bike search registration was closed, the judges began the difficult task of narrowing down the bike entries to their top three choices. Around 7:30 p.m. I used the PA system to introduce the cover model search contestants to an excited crowd. As I introduced each contestant, they made their runway walk across stage. The girls posed for a while so everyone good get some good photos, and so the judges could compare notes to make their top selections. The judges handed me their votes for the top cover bike and cover model search entries, and it was time to calculate their votes and announce the winners.

The cover bike search winner of the day was Denny Davis’ 2001 American Ironhorse Slammer, and the two cover bike search finalists were Scott Lambert's 2005 American Ironhorse Texas Chopper and Soupy's 1961 Harley-Davidson FL. It was then time to bring the girl’s back out to a cheering and excited crowd. Kylei, from Parkville, Missouri took first place, and Makayla from Platte City, Missouri and JR from Shawnee, Kansas were the two finalists. We’ll be shooting Kylei on Denny’s bike for our January 2013 cover.

Because it was already dark, we had the cover bike winners move their bikes to a better lit area of the parking lot so we could take photos of them on their bikes. We also shot our three cover model search winners on the three winning bikes, which drew quite a crowd.

We had a great time, and I want to thank Cathy, Nick, Rick, and the entire crew at Worth Harley-Davidson for hosting a great cover bike and cover model search. I’d also like to thank all the bikers who attended the event, as well as the cover bike & cover model search participants who joined in the fun.
