Cover Bike & Cover Model Search at The Lake House Pub - Lee's Summit, Missouri

Written by  September 30, 2011

The Lake House Pub in Lee’s Summit, Missouri was the location for our eighth cover bike & cover model search of the year, which took place on Sunday, September 11, 2011.

Lonnie, Donna, Stripe, Wally and I arrived early to setup our booth in the parking lot so we could catch the Chiefs’ opening game on the TVs inside the bar, which turned out to be a huge disappointment. By the way, in case you didn’t know, I’m certainly a fair weather fan, and yes, the Chiefs certainly SUCK this year! After the game, bikes started rolling in and were ready to sign up for our cover bike search. Blake with Prodigal Son Coating also showed up to hand out cards to promote his powder coating business in Oak Grove, Missouri.

As the afternoon went on, several beautiful ladies started showing up to enter our cover model search. Cover model Jennifer showed up to help work the crowd and recruit cover model search contestants, and from the looks of the bikes and prospective models that were signing up, I could tell the judges were going to have their work cut out for them.

Randall “Sea Hawk” Hauk, our videographer, also arrived, and started shooting video, so make sure to check out our Cover Bike & Cover Model Search video on You Tube!

Throughout the afternoon, more and more bikes started rolling in and filling the parking lot and our cover bike search area was filling up fast. By the time we shut down our cover bike search registration, we had 12 nice bikes signed up to compete for an upcoming cover. We also had 10 beautiful women register for the cover model search, and it was apparent that our judges were going to have their hands full narrowing the selection down to three.
As soon as the judges finished judging the bike, it was time to bring the girls out for the cover model search. Donna got all the contestants lined up inside the bar, and the judges were positioned in front of the stage with their ballot sheets. The DJ who was supposed to be there didn’t show, so I had to yell at the top of my lungs in order to introduce the cover model search contestants over the roar of the crowd. As I shouted out each girl’s name, they made their way across the dance floor and then lined up on the stage. After the girls posed for a few photos, we had them step down off the stage to give our judges time to consolidate their votes. As soon as the judges had the results, they handed me their choices for the top three cover bike and cover model search entries.

With so many awesome bikes in the contest, the judges had their work cut out for them; however, they managed to narrow the list down. Spencer Taylor & His 1939 Harley-Davidson Knucklehead and Kevin Fitts & His 2009 Harley-Davidson Road Glide were the two finalists; and Doug Bolton & His 2000 Harley-Davidson Heritage Softail took first place.

It was then time to announce the winners of our cover model search. We had all the girls walk back onto the dance floor one more time to get the crowd worked up. Alexandra from Lee’s Summit, Missouri and Cheryl from Lake Lotawana, Missouri were the runners up, and Jennifer from Independence, Missouri took 1st place. We will be shooting Jennifer on Doug’s bike for an upcoming cover.

Lonnie had the owners of the three winning bikes move their motorcycles into the main area of the parking lot so he could take photos of them on their bikes. He also shot the three cover model search winners on the winning bikes. A crowd gathered as Lonnie took photos, and everyone enjoyed the show by pulling out their camera phones to get a few shots of their own.

The event was a lot of fun, and I want to thank the entire crew at The Lake House Pub for hosting the event, as well as all the guests who attended the event. I would also like to thank all the cover bike & cover model search participants for joining in the fun, and congratulate our cover bike and cover model search finalists and winners, who are featured in this month’s issue.
