Written by  August 31, 2011

Dale Minton’s 2002 Harley-Davidson Road King Firefighter Edition Trike was selected as the winning bike at our Cover Bike Search at Worth Clearance Center in Grandview, Missouri. This beautiful bike will be photographed for an upcoming cover.

Dale is from Parkville, Missouri, and we had the opportunity to gather more information about him and his 2002 Harley-Davidson Road King Trike for this month's issue. We also took a few photos of cover model search winner Keesha, on his bike.

CC: Dale, what is your occupation?
Dale: I’m a Fire Fighter Captain.

CC: Do you have hobbies other than motorcycling?
Dale: Yes, I like to restore antique fire trucks, and hotrods. I also enjoy leather work.

CC: Why do you ride?
Dale: It’s the best therapy around.

CC: How long have you been riding?
Dale: I’ve been riding about 26 years.

CC: What was your first bike?
Dale: It was a Kawasaki Ninja.

CC: How many bikes have you owned?
Dale: Five.

CC: How many bikes do you currently own?
Dale: Three. I also own a 2008 Godfather Pro Street (Aces & Eights), and a 2001 Kawasaki Vulcan Classic.

CC: What do you like most about your Fire Fighter Trike?
Dale: It’s a tribute to all fire fighters everywhere.

CC: What is your dream bike?
Dale: My 2008 Pro Street Aces and Eights, because I built and painted the bike myself. My second would be the Fire Trike, because of the tribute to the fire service.

CC: What is your most memorable riding experience?
Dale: Every ride is memorable in one way or the other.

CC: What is your least memorable riding experience?
Dale: The one where I laid my Ninja down in the mountains of North Carolina.

CC: To what motorcycle clubs or organizations do you belong?
Dale: The Cul-De-Sac Clowns.

CC: What is your favorite motorcycle rally?
Dale: Sturgis.

CC: What are your favorite bike night locations?
Dale: Stables in Kearney, Missouri. I enjoy the fact that most of the bike night is held outside, so you’re able to walk around and view all the bikes. They also have the best bands and biker atmosphere.

CC: Tell us about your tattoos, and which is your favorite?
Dale: I have six tattoos, and all of them are my favorites because each one has special meaning to me.

CC: Do you prefer riding in a group or by yourself?
Dale: I prefer both. Some days I like to ride alone and just collect my thought, and other days it’s nice to share the ride with others.

CC: Who are some of your closest riding buddies?
Dale: I have so many it would be hard to name them all, but my lovely lady would have to be my closest.

CC: Thanks for the interview Dale, and we look forward to shooting your bike for an upcoming cover!
