Cover Bike & Cover Model Search at the Brass Rail - Kansas City Missouri

Written by  August 31, 2011

The Brass Rail in Kansas City, Missouri was the location for our sixth cover bike & cover model search of the year, which took place on Thursday, July 28, 2011, which coincided with their weekly bike night.

We arrived early to setup our booth and to block off a section of the parking lot for our cover bike search, and in no time, the bikes began showing up. Blake with Prodigal Son Coating also showed up, and parked his truck at one end of the parking lot so he could promote his new powder coating business in Oak Grove, Missouri.

Throughout the evening, several ladies registered for our cover model search, and Randall “Sea Hawk” Hauk, our videographer, was on site shooting video for our Cover Bike & Cover Model Search video on You Tube!

As the evening went on, the parking lot was filling up quickly, which kept us busy getting all the bikes line up and getting everyone signed in. By the time we cut off our cover bike and cover model search registration around 7:30 p.m., we had 20 bikes and 6 attractive ladies signed up to compete for our cover model search.

The judges began the difficult task of narrowing down the bike entries to their top three selections, and we moved inside the bar so we could use the band’s PA system to introduce the cover model search contestants to the crowd. We had the contestants line up next to where the band was setup, and the judges had a seat in front for the show. I introduced each contestant to the cheer of the crowd, as they made their runway across the floor and line up in front of the band. The girls posed for a while so everyone good get some good photos, and so the judges could compare notes in an attempt to make their top three choices, which was quite challenging. The judges handed me their votes for the top cover bike and cover model search entries, and it was time to make the announcements.

The two cover bike search finalists were Keith Moore & His 2007 Victory Kingpin and Jeff Blystone & His 2004 Harley-Davidson Road King, and the winner of our cover bike search was Tom Schmidt & His 2008 Harley-Davidson CVO Springer Softail, who had ridden all the way down from St. Joseph, Missouri.

It was then time to announce the winners of our cover model search, so we had the girls line up one more time to get the crowd worked up again. Bobbi from Kansas City, Missouri and Alisha, who was also from Kansas City, Missouri were the runners up, and Desire from Kansas City, Missouri took 1st place.

We’ll be shooting Desire on Tom’s Harley-Davidson CVO for an upcoming cover, and we had the owners of the winning bikes move their motorcycles into the main area of the parking lot so Stripe could take photos of them on their bikes. He also shot our cover model search winners on the winning bikes. A crowd gathered as Stripe took photos, and everyone enjoyed the show by pulling out their cameras and camera phones to get a few shots of their own.

The event was a lot of fun, and I want to thank the entire crew at the Brass Rail for hosting another great event. I would also like to thank all the guests who attended the event, as well as the cover bike & cover model search participants who joined in the fun. Congratulate to our cover bike and cover model search finalists and winners, who are featured in this month’s issue.
