Cover Bike & Cover Model Search at Worth Clearance Center - Gladstone, Missouri

Written by  August 31, 2011

Worth Clearance Center in Gladstone, Missouri was the location for our fifth cover bike & cover model search of the year, which took place on Saturday, July 23, 2011, which coincided with their grand opening.

Danny, Stripe and I arrived early to setup our booth in the parking lot, and before long, bikes started rolling in. Several vendors and special guests were already setup in the parking lot, including the new Pennzoil “Feel the Clean” truck, 98.9 The Rock, Shaunta’ and her bikini bike wash girls, Dry Wash, and The Hideout Bar was there providing beverages, and sharing a tent with those grilling up the free BBQ. A live band also showed up to entertain the crowd.

Throughout the day, several attractive young ladies showed up to enter our cover model search, and we also had a good turnout for our cover bike search, and Randall “Sea Hawk” Hauk, our videographer, soon arrived, and started shooting video, so make sure to check out our Cover Bike & Cover Model Search video on You Tube!

As the afternoon went on, more and more bikes started rolling in and filling the parking lot. Our cover bike search area was filling up quickly, which kept our crew busy getting all the bikes line up and signed in. We were equally busy signing up all the cover model search contestants, and by the time we cut off our cover bike and cover model search registration around 3:00 p.m., we had 8 awesome bikes and 5 beautiful ladies signed up to compete for an upcoming cover shoot.

As soon as the judges finished judging the bikes, it was time to call the girls out for the cover model search. We had the contestants line up next to our booth, and the judges were positioned in front of the band; ballot sheets in hand. I introduced each contestant to the cheer of the crowd, as they made their way across the parking lot and lined up in front of the band. We then had the girls pose for a while so everyone good get some good photos. The judges then had the tough job of narrowing the field down to their top three choices. After much deliberation, the judges handed me their choices for the top cover bike and cover model search entries.

With so many nice bikes from to choose from, I knew the judges would have their work cut out for them; however, they did manage to narrow the list down to their favorite three bikes. Brad Jenkins & His 2011 Harley-Davidson Super Glide Custom, Jon Gallagher & His 1972 Harley-Davidson FLHand Charles Bell & His 2003 Suzuki GSXR were the finalists; while Dale Minton & His 2002 Harley-Davidson Road King Firefighter Edition Trike took first place.

It was then time to announce the winners of our cover model search, so we had the girls line up one more time to get the crowd excited. Jill from Kansas City, Missouri, Carissa from Oak Grove, Missouri, and Kristal from Warrrensburg, Missouri were the runners up, and Keesha from Kansas City, Missouri took 1st place.

We’ll be shooting Keesha on Dale’s Harley-Davidson trike for an upcoming cover, and we had the owners of the winning bikes move their motorcycles into the main area of the parking lot so Stripe could take photos of them on their bikes. He also shot our cover model search winners on the winning bikes. A crowd gathered as Stripe took photos, and everyone enjoyed the show by pulling out their cameras and camera phones to get a few shots of their own.

The event was a blast, and I want to thank Jim, John and the entire crew at Worth Clearance Center for hosting the event. I would also like to thank all the guests who attended the event, as well as the cover bike & cover model search participants who participated in the fun. Congratulate to our cover bike and cover model search finalists and winners, who are featured in this month’s issue.
