Indy Racing Returns to Barber Motorsports Park – Birmingham, Alabama

Some weeks before the April 5th return of Indy racing, the city of Birmingham was in discussions as to whether or not to extend their support of this event. Zac Riders M/C 2013 Breakout Rally at Worth Harley-Davidson – Kansas City, Missouri

Saturday March 30, 2013 Worth Harley-Davidson hosted the Zac Riders Motorcycle Club’s 2012 Breakout Rally. The event centralized around a Ride-in Bike Show and Bike Audio Contest with winners receiving very generous Worth Harley-Davidson gift cards in the amounts of $1000 for 1st places, $500 for 2nd places and $250 for both 3rd place winners. I was fortunate enough to place 2nd in the bike audio portion. Motorcycle Grand Prix of the Americas - Austin, Texas

The world visited Austin, Texas on the weekend of April 20, 2013. Loudly. The setting was Austin’s stunning, brand new Circuit of the Americas race facility, and the event that brought them in was the Motorcycle Grand Prix of the Americas. This race is the second of 18 races in the Moto GP circuit. Austin hosts one of only three such races in the United States, the other two being at Indianapolis and Leguna Seca. Shawnee Cycle Plaza Open House - Shawnee Mission, Kansas

Shawnee Cycle Plaza’s Open House was held on March 16, the day before Saint Patrick’s Day, and the slogan was, “Wear GREEN, Save GREEN!” Special values during the event included 10% off on parts and accessories (excluding sale items), 10% off service scheduled that day, and 50% off labor for oil changes on that day. 2013 All-American Motorcycle Show/World of Wheels-Kansas City, Missouri

The 53rd Annual O’Reilly Auto Parts World of Wheels Show drew large crowds of auto and motorcycle enthusiasts to Kansas City’s Bartle Hall during the weekend of February 8-10. A special added attraction at the show each year is the All-American Motorcycle Show presented by Gail’s Harley-Davidson . Admission for both shows was $17 for adults, $5 for kids ages 6-12, and free for children 5 and under with discount tickets available at O’Reilly Auto Parts stores. 9th Annual Christian Biker Workshop - Kansas City, Missouri

The 9th Annual Christian Biker Workshop was presented by the Kansas City Chapter of Cycle Disciples M/C on Saturday, January 5. For the first time, the event was held in the Conference Center on the newly-expanded campus of Calvary Bible College and Theological Seminary. The recently remodeled building was a significant upgrade from the old Education Building across the street that had been the venue for previous workshops. Helmet Recall: Vega Helmet Corp is recalling certain XTS model motorcycle helmets in L, XL and XXL sizes because they may not provide adequate impact protection based on federal safety standards. The company said the recall affects 30,546 helmets manufactured from May 2011 through October 2012.

Guys' Night at Blue Springs Harley-Davidson

The evening of November 16 was a special one at Blue Springs Harley-Davidson. The occasion was Guys’ Night, and the dealership was full of booths promoting all sorts of merchandise and services of special interest to guys. Another cold early morning start as we follow the Colorado River on its westward route. The vistas are what you’d expect from this canyon--grand. Ignoring the signs, Tom climbs over the fence so he can pose precariously on the edge cliff with a big fearless ground squirrel that is perched there. In 2004, Tucker Orton was born 14 weeks early weighing just 19 ounces. His mother, Jennifer, had been diagnosed with severe preeclampsia and possible HELLP syndrome, a life-threatening obstetric condition. Tucker coded immediately after delivery, was revived and rushed to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) where his diagnosis was severe prematurity, respiratory distress, and possible sepsis. His care included surfactant therapy, a treatment developed by March of Dimes-funded research, enabling his undeveloped lungs to function.
