Inspirational Women: Lysa Banks

It has been stated that IBM’s workforce is only about 29% women. As part of a campaign to attract more women to the company, IBM started a series of videos called “A Day in the Life,” highlighting women who have risen through the ranks.

One recent video centered on Lysa Banks, lead architect for industry cloud solutions. Lysa graduated from the New Jersey Institute of Technology with a degree in computer engineering, eventually landing a job with IBM as a software engineer. With the help of mentors and a supportive IBM staff, Lysa was able to rise through the ranks and find opportunities that allowed her to interact with clients. She then became a mentor herself for adolescents interested in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math.

Another interesting fact about Lysa is that she is also a fellow motorcyclist. You can see her inspirational video below.
