Readers and their Rides

Mike Bramble and His 2004 Bourget Fat Daddy Chopper

Written by  December 31, 2009

The first time I saw Mike Bramble's 2004 Bourget Fat Daddy Chopper was at this year's Bikers for BabiesĀ® RIDE in Kansas City, Kansas. Mike purchased the bike at Bike Week in Daytona, and as it turns out, the bike was originally built for Dee Snider, the lead singer of Twisted Sister. I'd been planning to shoot Mike's Bourget for our cover ever since I seen it, and last month the opportunity finally presented itself.
During our photo shoot I asked Mike if I could also interview him for this month's Readers and Their Rides article and he was more than happy to agree to my request.
CC: Mike, what is your occupation?
Mike: I'm an electrician for Local #124.

CC: Do you have hobbies other than motorcycling?
Mike: Yes. I enjoy collecting bees.

CC: Why do you ride?
Mike: My psychologist recommended it as an outlet.

CC: How long have you been riding?
Mike: I've been riding for about 25 years.

CC: What was your first bike?
Mike: It was a Honda XR75.

CC: How many bikes have you owned?
Mike: Ten.

CC: How many bikes do you currently own?
Mike: Right now, just my Bourget.

CC: What do you like most about your Bourget?
Mike: It certainly isn't the comfort.

CC: What is your dream bike?
Mike: I've already got it.

CC: What is your most memorable riding experience?
Mike: Daytona Bike Week. Strippers, beer, babes and no work!

CC: Do you have a least memorable riding experience?
Mike: Riding from St. Augustine to Daytona in the pouring rain during Bike Week. It rained each and every day.

CC: What motorcycle rallies and events have you attended, and which is your favorite?
Mike: Daytona Bike Week is my favorite.

CC: Do you have a favorite bike night hangout?
Mike: Yes. I like Fathead & Braindeads Saloon and Knuckleheads Saloon.

CC: Do you prefer riding in a group or by yourself?
Mike: I like riding in a group. Why not?

CC: Who are some of your closest riding buddies?
Mike: Skinny Arms, TAT , Modot, Leo, Biker Dan & Biker Cliff.

CC: Thank you for the interview Mike, and thank you for letting us shoot your bike for our January 2010 cover.
