Dale Minton of Kansas City, Missouri is the builder of the Aces and Eights bike on this month's cover. As you can see, Dale is a very talented builder and painter, and we asked him for an interview so we could share some of his personal information with our readers.
CC: Dale, do you have an occupation aside from being a custom bike builder?
Dale: Yes, I'm also a fire fighter captain.

CC: Do you have any hobbies other than motorcycling?
Dale: Yes, I also enjoy drag racing, horses and leather working.

CC: Why do you ride?
Dale: You never see a motorcycle outside a therapist's office. It is a way to clear my head and spend time with my lovely lady.

CC: How long have you been riding?
Dale: I've been riding for about 24 years.

CC: What was your first bikes?
Dale: It was a Kawasaki Ninja.

CC: How many bikes have you guys owned?
Dale: I've owned three bikes.

CC: How many bikes do you currently own?
Dale:Aside from the Aces and Eights bike I also have a 2001 Kawasaki Vulcan Classic 800.

CC: What do you like most about your Aces and Eights bike?
Dale: The history and the legend behind the bike itself; Wild Bill Hickok.

CC: What is your dream bike?
Dale: My dream bike is the one you see here. I had thought about this bike for about two years prior to building it.

CC: What is your most memorable riding experience?
Dale: The ride my lady and I took on the Blue Ridge Parkway. This was the first time she had ever been on the parkway. We met a lot of nice people there and got to see some beautiful scenery and spend time with family.

CC: What are some of your favorite motorcycle rallies & events?
Dale: Sturgis and the ABATE Rally at Lake Perry. I would have to say the ABATE Rally is the funniest, but I enjoy Sturgis for the beautiful rides.

CC: Do you have a favorite bike night location?
Dale: Stables in Kearney. It is one where you can sit outside enjoy the weather, the band, and the bikes. You are not sitting inside the bar were you can't see the bikes.

CC: Tell us about your tattoos.
Dale: I have four. One on my back and three on my arms. I have two favorites; my 9/11 tribute tattoo on my back and the flames on my left forearm for my dad and the fire service.

CC: Do you have a favorite tattoo artist?
Dale: Yes. Scott and Mercy Seat Tattoos. You show him an idea that you want and he goes to town and makes it better than you expected.

CC: Do you prefer riding in a group or by yourself?
Dale: Both. Some days I like to just go for a ride by myself but don't mind getting friends together and exploring some back roads together.

CC: Who are some of your closest riding buddies?
Dale: My sister Debbie Minton and our friends Scott and Melanie Stubler.

CC: Is there anything else you would like to share with our readers?
Dale: Yes. I would like to thank my loving and beautiful lady for sticking by me throughout this build. Without her none of this would have ever happened. She is the one who introduced me to the Sturgis rally and Deadwood, South Dakota six years ago.

CC: Dale, thank you for the interview and congratulations again for winning our most recent cover bike contest.

Special thanks to Bill Matthews with House Of Trykes LLC located at 6219 NW Kelly Drive in Parkville, Missouri (816) 365-8794 for allowing us to photograph the Aces and Eights bike at his shop.
