A few weeks ago, while chatting with Duncan Barnett, General Manager at Libery Cycle Center, he told me about this really nice custom Kawasaki Mean Streak that belonged to a customer of his, and thought I might want to consider it as a possible cover bike for one of our upcoming issues. I get this a lot, so I asked Duncan to send me some photos of the bike and I’d take a look. He told me there were photos of the bike on CC Custom Graphic’s web site, and since Chris Cofield, owner of CC Custom Graphics is also one of our clients, I decided to check it out.

As soon as I seen the first photo of this bike with the fighter plane paint job, I knew Duncan was right, and it would make a great cover bike. Duncan offered to let us use their facility for the photo shoot and after working out a few details and recruiting Lindsey to model for us, everything was good to go.

The photo shoot went great, and after we were done shooting I had the opportunity to chat with Bill about his bike. He told me about the significance of the paint job and explained every last detail, which I found very interesting. That's when I decided it would also be interesting to find out more about the man behind the bike and Bill agreed to an interview.

CC: Bill, what is your occupation?
Bill: I’m a commercial lumber driver.

CC: Do you have any hobbies other than motorcycling?
Bill:Yes, I enjoy boating and restoring my ’79 Ranchero GT.

CC: Why do you ride?
Bill: Freedom from all worries.

CC: How long have you been riding?
Bill: I’ve been riding for around 35 years.

CC: What was your first bike?
Bill: My first bike was a 1967 Yamaha 90cc.

CC: How many bikes have you owned?
Bill: I’ve owned around 25 bikes.

CC: How many bikes do you currently own, and what are they?
Bill: I currently own three bikes. Along with my 2002 Kawasaki Mean Streak, I also own a 1967 Honda CB360 and a 1967 Huskvarna 360 Enduro.

CC: What do you like most about your Mean Streak?
Bill: The paint theme.

CC: What is your dream bike?
Bill: I’d say it would have to be a Harley-Davidson Screamin’ Eagle V-Rod, because they are a low-stretched bike and pretty mean. Plus, my girlfriend wants her ass on the back of an orange one.

CC: What is your most memorable riding experience?
Bill: Riding from Las Vegas to Lake Havasouix City, Arizona because Interstate 95 is also known as searchlight.

CC: What is your least memorable riding experience?
Bill: Riding from KC to the Lake of the Ozarks in the pouring rain, and my boots were overflowing with water.

CC: To what motorcycle clubs or organizations do you belong?
Bill: H.O.G.

CC: Which motorcycle rallies & events have you attended and which is your favorite?
Bill: I enjoy all charity rides, including Bikers for Babies and Toys for Tots. Bikers for Babies is my favorite because 2007 will be my 5th year in a row, with 20,000 bikes and a lot of good riding!

CC: Do you have a favorite bike night hangout?
Bill: Yes. I like Stables Bar & Grill in Kearney, Missouri because there is cold beer, good food, live music and good people.

CC: Do you prefer riding in a group or by yourself?
Bill: I like both.

CC: Who are some of your closest riding buddies?
Bill: I don’t really have any close riding buddies, but I run into lots of friends as we are riding.

CC: Bill, thanks a lot for taking the time for this interview and for letting us shoot your bike for our March 2007y cover.
