Our September 2016 cover bike is owned by Todd Ashe, and we enjoyed shooting his 2008 Yamaha V Star 1300 for this month’s cover. Todd is from Lenexa, Kansas, and we had the opportunity to gather additional information about him and his “Monster Glide.” We also had fun shooting cover model Michelle on Todd’s bike for this month’s cover. I’m sure you’ll also enjoy this month’s behind the scenes photos and video!

CC: Todd, what is your occupation?
Todd: I’m in medical sales.

CC: Do you have hobbies other than motorcycling?
Todd: Yes. I also enjoy guns and driveway drinking – not at the same time.

CC: How long have you been riding?
Todd: My entire life.

CC: What was your first bike?
Todd: I got a minibike when I was six years old.

CC: How many bikes have you owned?
Todd: I’ve owned 10 bikes.

CC: How many bikes do you currently own?
Todd: I currently have two bikes. My 2008 Yamaha V Star 1300 “Monster Glide” and a 2016 Indian Roadmaster.

CC: What do you like most about your Monster Glide?
Todd: The custom paint.

CC: What is your dream bike?
Todd: We love both of our current bikes. We’re happy!

CC: What is your most memorable riding experience?
Todd: I love the scenery while riding in the mountains around Sturgis.

CC: Which motorcycle rallies & events have you attended, and which is your favorite?
Todd: Sturgis and Bikes, Blues & BBQ in Fayetteville, Arkansas. I like them both.

CC: Tell us about your ink?
Todd: I have six tattoos on my back and arms. The dragon on my left arm is my favorite because my wife loves dragons.

CC: Do you have a favorite tattoo artist?
Todd: Yes, I like Big Mike at Aftershock.

CC: Do you prefer riding in a group or by yourself?
Todd: We like riding by ourselves or in a small group – it’s safer.

CC: Who are some of your closest riding buddies?
Todd: We have good friends here in town and in Wichita. We love our extended motorcycle family!

CC: Thanks for the interview Todd, and thank you for letting us shoot your bike for this month’s cover.
