Our February 2013 cover bike is owned by good friend Randall Hauk. Randall is our official videographer, and is also the owner of Sea Hawk Media Productions. Randall shoots and edits all of our Behind the Scenes videos at our cover shoots, as well as at our Cover Bike & Cover Model Search events all over town. He’s a valuable member of the Cycle Connections team, and we’re excited to feature his bike on this month’s cover! To help make Randall’s bike look even better, we photographed Ashley on his Super Glide for this month’s cover.

CC: Why do you ride?

Randall: The feeling of control when you ride is awesome. Nothing like a ride to let you get the frustrations of the day out of your system. It's good therapy.

CC: What do like about your Super Glide?

Randall: The paint scheme.

CC: It’s a beautiful paint job. Who painted your bike, and tell us about the paint?

Randall: The paint was done by Chris Cofield with CC Custom Graphics, and the powder coating was done by Blake at Prodigal Son Coating. The paint is a silver base with candy red & candy blue flames. The switch covers and fuse box are powder coated in a Black Starlight color.

CC: What other changes and accessories have you made to your bike?

Randall: I added Vance and Hines Side Shots pipes, Kuryakyn Flamin’ pegs and grips, Bike Master Wideview Flame mirrors, an Adjure 4-1/2” Flame bucket headlight, and a Mustang Tripper solo seat.

CC: Do you have any hobbies other than motorcycling?

Randall: Yes, I enjoy scuba diving anywhere warm.

CC: What do you enjoy most about riding?

Randall: It’s an adventure and a great way to relieve stress and meet people.

CC: How long have you been riding?

Randall: A little more than two years; this stretch.

CC: What was your first bike?

Randall: My 2008 Harley-Davidson Dyna Super Glide.

CC: How many bikes have you owned?

Randall: Just this one.

CC: What is your dream bike?

Randall: I don’t really have one.

CC: What is your most memorable riding experience?

Randall: Gathering of the Guard in Steelville, Missouri in 2011. I got to meet many riders form different locations around the country, and had a great time.

CC: What is your least memorable riding experience?

Randall: My first Jimmie’s Miles for Medals ride for KC Metro Special Olympics. I dropped the bike twice on the same day. I was embarrassed.

CC: To what motorcycle clubs or organizations do you belong?

Randall: I belong to the Patriot Guard Riders and the. American Heartland H.O.G. chapter.

CC: Which motorcycle rallies & events have you attended, and which is your favorite?

Randall: Biker for Babies, Jimmie’s Miles for Medals, 9-11 Ride and Rally, Spirit Ride, Celtic Thunder Ride, Honor & Remember Ride, and the Ride to Remember. I don’t have a favorite. I go on as many charity rides as my schedule allows.

CC: Any tattoos, and if so, which is your favorite?

Randall: Yes, I have six on my arms. They all have a very special meaning to me. but my favorite is the butterfly on my upper right arm. It was done by an artist in Portsmouth, England, who did it freehand in about 30 minutes.

CC: So do you have a favorite tattoo artist?

Randall: Yes. Lyle Tuttle’s studio in San Francisco, California. I got my first two done there.

CC: Do you prefer riding in a group or by yourself?

Randall: It doesn’t matter.

CC: Thanks for the interview Randall, and thanks for letting us shoot your bike for our February cover!
