2014 EBR 1190RX

More than thirty years of racing, engineering, and manufacturing experience goes into every Erik Buell Racing (EBR) motorcycle, and one of the company’s latest creations is the 2014 EBR 1190RX. This bike was built from the ground up with quality, pride, and a relentless passion to bring you yet another world-class sport bike from the heart of America.

When I first heard there was a new Indian Motorcycle dealership opening in Kansas City, I was beyond excited to go check this place out and see what the new bikes were all about. Although I’ve been a Harley guy for a long time, Indians have always held a special place in my heart, which I’m sure is true for other old school bikers (I’ve been riding a little more than 46 years, so I’m not sure if that qualifies as old school, but please work with me here). As Indian enthusiasts will tell you, if you choose to bring up history, Indian motorcycles were around longer than Harley-Davidson, even if only by a couple years (1901 compared to 1903).

On Thursday, September 18, 2014, from 2-6 p.m., Indian Motorcycle Kansas City invited Indian motorcycle enthusiast and tire kickers back to their dealership once again for an event entitled Scout’s First Run. When Stripe and I pulled into the dealership, the first thing that caught your eye, was a shiny black Indian SUV attached to a shiny red trailer with an image of a red Indian Scout on the sides, and huge lettering on the back and sides that read “INTRODUCING THE 2015 INDIAN SCOUT - NOTHING ELSE.” As you can see in the photo below, the image of the rider on the Scout was so realistic it scared Stripe as he was standing next to it. We figured if the new bikes were half as eye-catching as the trailer, it was going to be a fun event…we were not disappointed!

Danielle from Lee’s Summit, Missouri is our October 2014 cover model, and she took first place at our Cover Model Search on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Blue Springs Harley-Davidson. Danielle is a receptionist at Blue Springs Harley-Davidson, a Promotional Model, and is also a full-time college student. When asked about her ambitions in life, she said “To receive my master’s degree in criminal justice and an undergraduate degree in psychology. From then I would like to work within local police departments and help with criminal profiling.”

As many of you already know, especially those living in Missouri and Kansas, in order to help keep Missouri motorcycle dealerships competitive with the Kansas dealerships, as of August 28, 2014, Missouri motorcyclists could begin buying motorcycles on Sundays.

About Indian Motorcycle of Kansas City
We are the first new Indian Motorcycle dealer to open in Kansas City area and we are extremely excited to be a part of this brand. I cannot wait to see all the new owners riding these great motorcycles, enjoying the open road, telling their own "road stories", enjoying every mile, showing off their your new motorcycle, living the lifestyle and building the new Indian Motorcycle legacy.

The anticipation of our annual road trip to Sturgis is almost too much to handle. This is our favorite ride of the year, and the only opportunity we have to meet up with some of our good friends and riding buddies from around the country.

We woke up early on Saturday, August 2, and made our way over to Danny and Amanda’s house, where Nichole hopped in our support vehicle with Amanda, before heading north on I-29 out of Kansas City to meet up with the rest of our group at the rest stop on I-29 between Platte City and St. Joseph, Missouri. We arrived a bit early, and before long, everyone started rolling in. We took off ahead of the group so we could drop off our doggie with my mom in my hometown of Wathena, Kansas, and to hook up with my cousin Mark, who met us at a convenience store in town. Before long, we could see several headlights, and hear the roar of several Harleys as the rest of our group pulled into town.
