3rd Annual Ride for Ryan

Ryan’s dad was determined to rebuild Ryan’s 1995 Harley-Davidson Fat Boy in time to lead the ride. His mom was determined to promote the event effectively enough to draw at least 300 participants. When the day came for the ride, both parents achieved their objectives. The bike looked magnificent, and the registration count came to 301! Thankful that their prayers had been answered, they decided to continue the event on an annual basis to benefit many students and to keep Ryan’s memory alive. The ride was even more successful in 2004 and resulted in five scholarships compared to one the first year.

Ryan’s birthday is coming up again, and it’s nearly time for the 3rd Annual Ride for Ryan. Motorcycles, classic cars, and other vehicles are welcome to participate. The event will start at St. Joe Harley-Davidson, 4020 S. 169 Highway, St. Joseph, Missouri on June 4, 2005. Registration is from 10 a.m. to noon, and the fee is $15 per person. Participants will tour the countryside where Ryan loved to ride and will draw numbered poker chips for a chance to win cash prizes of $200, $100 and $50 for the three highest totals. There will be door prizes as well. The ride will end at Las Palma’s Mexican Restaurant at 2715 N. Belt. Entertainment will be provided by Rockin’ Raider Bob, and food will be served. At approximately 3:30 p.m. there will be an auction and raffle drawing.
