I say the Southeast, but this event, like the AMA races, draws from all over the country. Part of the fun of the weekend, for us anyway, is to see how many different out-of-state tags we can spot, and there are always many from all over the map.

I began Friday morning, October 23, having coffee in the Christian Motorcyclist Association tent. I was surprised to see my long-time friend “ Picture Man ” making his way from a golf cart to the tent on crutches. He explained that a tow truck had swerved into his lane and had side-swiped his motorcycle. Fortunately, his injuries are healing, and I’m sure he shot plenty of great photographs at the event in spite of his lack of mobility.

One of our favorites bike night bands, “4th & One” had been booked to play Halloween at Rider’s, so we had to go and hang with them for awhile, and these people are always good for many laughs as they tend to really get into the night. We saw some cool things, we saw some wild things, but hey, isn’t that what makes this shit so funny? We rocked there for a bit then rolled on over to the track, where they also had scheduled for inside Club Quincy a mixed martial arts fight, well actually, several of them. That is just too much for me. It’s hard to watch two people beating the crap out of each other, but—whatever rocks your boat.
