I love it when business owners go the extra mile to help local charities and aren't afraid to look outside the box to make their establishment stand out from the rest. That's exactly what Fathead and Braindeads Saloon has done this year for their Wednesday bike nights and their Saturday promotional events.
I mean where else can you ride to every Wednesday and Saturday for great food and drink specials, live bands, wet T-shirt contests, pole dancing contests, and the only bike night in town that offers outdoor bike games such as weenie bite contests, 'Honey I'm Home' contests, and a challenging slow ride course that has been painted on the asphalt and takes up the entire parking lot? You can normally find Ed Hale and his Posse setup in the parking lot raising money for the March of Dimes as well as other great local charitable organizations that enjoy hanging out with everyone and raising funds to help those in need. Fathead & Braindeads Saloon is also a favorite stop for numerous charity rides, so if you're actively involved with a local charity make sure to consider them for your next poker run or dice roll stop.
There's never a cover charge to see one of their great bands perform, and if that's not enough, make your way toward the back of the bar where the David Mann Biker Visions & More Art Gallery is located. The gallery houses one of the largest collections of David Mann artwork and memorabilia around, and if you're lucky, you might just catch David's wife Jacquie behind the counter where she's happy to answer all your questions and sign autographs.
Mom, better known as Pug and her sons Truman a.k.a. Fathead and Todd a.k.a. Braindead opened the bar in May 2008 and are some of the nicest people you'd ever hope to meet. They are motorcycle enthusiasts themselves and have created a great place for Kansas City area bikers to hang out and have fun. The steaks and ribs at Fathead & Braindeads are to die for and their daily lunch specials are awesome and extremely affordable. I especially enjoy their .99 chicken and hamburger sliders on Wednesdays and their .75 tacos every Thursday.
Friday is ladies night with $1 well drinks and draws for the ladies while a DJ plays your favorite music. Bands play every Saturday night with great shot specials and on Sunday don't miss their afternoon jam sessions from 4-8 p.m., BBQ rib specials and their pool and dart tournaments with 100% payout.
So the next time you and your riding buddies hit the streets looking for some action, ride on down to Fathead & Braindeads Saloon for some of the most fun you can have on two wheels!
